Summary

The Digital Content Manager, Strategy will develop the content strategy for their accounts. The DCM, Strategy will be a hands-on cross functional leader collaborating with SEO Directors, Account Managers, and key client stakeholders to lead a team of writers that understand our voice and our customers in order to speak to them in a way that will drive KPIs. The DCM, Strategy reports directly to the Sr. Director of Content Strategy and indirectly to the Project Manager(s) of his/her/their respective customer team(s).

Essential Functions

  • Leads in the delivery of outstanding creative and results, working collaboratively within a cross-disciplinary team and environment (content writers, strategists, and editors) to ensure creative work is on-brand and standing out to research the intended audience
  • Oversees and guides all content strategy on the team for clients
  • Guide junior and mid-level content specialists and strategists with insightful feedback and leadership. Ensure that creative projects ultimately meet business needs, helping shepherd the work of other creatives toward that goal.
  • Delegates work amongst self and other team members with a bigger picture of all the work within sub-department
  • Maintains awareness of upcoming macro shifts that will affect the client’s business as well as marketing at large
  • Actively involved in pursuing new work with existing clients as well new business
  • Regularly presenting to clients and involved in upsells.
  • Ensure consistency and efficacy of content strategy throughout all creative
  • Own the brand voice story for our clients across all channels maintaining consistency
  • Maintain and nurture the brand, while identifying when we can take creative risks. You want to build a brand that stands out. You shape and maintain brand voice consistency across many projects, not just your own.
  • Stays current on content marketing best practices and techniques, as well as all trends relating to the clients’ category in order to strategize on effective and engaging web content.
  • Responsible for developing presentations and delivering them to clients as necessary.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Seven or more years of professional work experience in a related role.
  • A proven track record of creative ability and judgment, successful client contact experience, the ability to work collaboratively with account management, excellent presentation skills, successful experience in managing creative teams and multiple accounts, and the commitment to go the extra mile in time and effort to produce the very best work
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to support customer communication, and perform the delivery of customer presentations.
  • Familiarity with SEO and analytics reporting tools, to aid in content strategy and creation.
  • Excellent grammar, writing, copy-editing and communication skills, including the ability to adapt 
  • writing style to appeal to different audiences and adhere to established brand voices.
  • A lover of working with data and metrics and finding creative insights out of information.
  • Basic HTML coding ability and understanding of WordPress and other content management system (CMS) platforms a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations or related field.
