What is the Terakeet culture?
The Terakeet culture means so many different things to our employees. Some describe it as fun, helpful, collaborative, and respectful. Others call it balanced, flexible, and determined. Overall, the Terakeet culture is about pushing towards ambitious goals while maintaining a work environment where all employees feel empowered, respected, and cared for. We focus on balancing career growth and business innovation without having to choose between ambitiously pursuing a career and a thriving personal/family life.
What jobs does Terakeet offer?
Terakeet offers a wide range of creative, technical, and business-focused career opportunities that focus on reputation management strategy. We’re committed to career development and allowing individuals to grow into subject matter experts and leaders.
People who thrive here have a deep passion for digital marketing strategies, brand monitoring and analysis, learning, and driving meaningful impact.
Our employees work across several disciplines, including:
- Client Success
- Content
- Engineering
- Marketing
- Technology and product development
- Project management
- Technical SEO
- Business Operations
The Terakeet workforce has diverse experience, and our employees bring their expertise from many different backgrounds and industries — and we believe that’s our strength.
Is Terakeet a fully remote organization?
Yes. Terakeet is a fully remote-first organization, meaning any employee who wants to work remotely can do so. The Terakeet office located in Syracuse, NY, is still open to employees in Central New York, but no employees are required to work in the office.
Upon starting at Terakeet, all employees will receive a computer and other resources they need to be successful wherever they are.
After receiving feedback around a desire to have more opportunity for in-person connection, we began a more targeted recruitment strategy that concentrated our hiring efforts within eight cities. These cities were chosen based on their alignment with client locations and the proximity of current employees at that time.
This hiring approach aims to make client travel shorter and local meet-ups possible and easier to attend.

What family benefits does Terakeet offer?
Terakeet offers an array of benefits that support families, including remote work, flexible work arrangements, health insurance options (including one fully-paid premium plan), health savings accounts (HSA) and flexible spending account (FSA) accounts, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits.
It’s our goal that employees feel supported and able to enjoy plenty of personal and family time. That’s why Terakeet also offers an unlimited PTO benefit and Paid Family Leave.
New parents can take up to 12 weeks of paid leave and receive 100% of their annual salary during that period. This provides parents time to bond with their growing families without the stress of immediately returning to work.
Through the HSA, employees can reduce out-of-pocket healthcare expenses and invest funds. The FSAs allow our employees to save money tax-free for healthcare and childcare expenses.
As a result of feedback from employee-led focus groups, we also recently instituted an annual retention bonus. The new bonus structure allows us to reward employees for their ongoing commitment and to acknowledge the value of tenure and continued contributions toward achieving company goals.
What is Terakeet’s flexible work arrangement?
At Terakeet, we believe full-time employees should have the flexibility they need to excel in both their personal and professional lives. We know employees can achieve great things in our innovative environment when given autonomy to manage their own time.
That’s why Terakeet employees have the option to work outside of a traditional 9-to-5 schedule. The benefit allows employees to flex their schedule to accommodate everyday life events like doctor’s appointments, picking children up from school, and personal events.
With employees spanning U.S. time zones, we do ask that time worked generally takes place between 7am–8 pm EST to allow for team collaboration and client availability.

How is Terakeet involved in the community?
Terakeet is a community-minded organization. Our employees are constantly driven to help others and have donated their time and resources to uplift the communities around them. Three organizations that we’re involved in specifically are the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Boys & Girls Clubs in Syracuse, and our employee-led charity Cause for the Cuse.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Our connection to this organization is rooted in honoring former Terakeet employee, Marc Murray. In 2011, Marc passed away due to complications from leukemia. Those who worked with Marc saw him as much more than a coworker. He was an inspiration and a friend.
In his honor, Terakeet proudly supports the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in their mission to end all blood cancers. For many years, our employees have supported the organization through participation in their in-person events.
Cause for the ‘Cuse
Cause for the ‘Cuse is our employee-led non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students in the Syracuse City School District. Through fundraising, the team has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars in school supplies, clothing, and hygienic materials to set up children in the Syracuse community for success.
With the success of the annual Cause for the Cuse golf tournament, they’ve also been able to support Mary Nelson’s Youth Center, and the MOST’s science learning program.
How does Terakeet support internal growth?
Terakeet employees all share a desire for professional growth, so we’ve created company-wide processes to support their goals. It’s our mission to create an environment where employees want to grow their professional careers for years to come.
Changes to the organizational structure were made to support career paths that better meet the aspirations of our employees. Some individuals thrive when they are mentoring others, while some are most fulfilled developing strategy or honing their skills within their craft. There are even roles that blend those responsibilities for leaders who like the balance of both.
While some employees aspire to management or leadership roles within their craft, it’s not been uncommon for employees to explore different career opportunities outside the discipline of the role they started in. We understand that people are most engaged in work that aligns with their strengths and that they find fulfilling.
Development Conversations
Throughout the year, there are required activities employees engage in that enable Terakeet to not only reinform existing programs but also provide customized support to individuals. Some of those activities are new hire assessments and surveys aimed at improving onboarding programs.
Employees also participate in a Talent Review, where they receive anonymous peer feedback and meet with their manager to talk through their strengths and opportunities for growth.
In lieu of formal annual performance reviews, we ask our managers to hold regular one-on-one syncs with their direct reports, frequently checking in on career-focused aspirations, development opportunities and to discuss matters of performance in real time. No one should have to wait to chase down their goals or get feedback about their work.
“Looking back, the best thing about my time at Terakeet has been the lack of a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to career pathing. It’s allowed me to pivot and grow in ways a more rigid structure might not have. Through honest conversations with mentors and managers, I’ve been able to focus on my strengths and find a role that balances the skills I’m confident in with new challenges that push me to grow. My colleagues here are brilliant and always willing to share their expertise. If you’re willing to put yourself out there, ask questions, and lean on those around you, the opportunities are wide open.” — Samantha Lewis, Senior Recruitment Marketing Strategist
LinkedIn Learning
Terakeet also offers all employees access to LinkedIn Learning courses. LinkedIn Learning is a training and development platform that features more than 9,000 courses on a wide variety of topics, including business, technical, creative, and soft skills. Once completed, employees can post badges and certificates to their LinkedIn profiles.
Mentorship Program
One of the exciting opportunities offered to employees is Terakeet’s annual mentorship program. Those who sign up have the option of being a mentor or a mentee and will be paired with another employee.
Through the program, mentees are encouraged to set personal and professional goals and work towards refining their skills. Participants have expressed how much they enjoyed connecting with another individual and having dedicated time to focus on career development.
