Terakeet has been building momentum over the last year, from investing in heavy IT scaffolding to enable a distributed workforce ahead of the pandemic to doubling down on investment in our people with better benefits and opportunities for career and professional growth. We’ve always believed strongly in taking a people-first approach to our business, and it shows in the string of workplace accolades we have received.
Recently, we talked about Terakeet being named to Fortune’s list of Great Workplaces in NY. We are pleased to contribute to the economic growth of our region and of New York State in general, so when we received another state-level workplace award this week, we knew we had to shout it from the rooftops! We were so excited to share some motivating news with our team today — on Wednesday, some of our ‘Keeters took the long journey from their couch to attend a virtual awards ceremony for the Best Companies to Work For in NY. The ceremony was held by Best Companies Group and the New York State Society for Human Resource Management’s (NYS-SHRM), in partnership with Rochester Business Journal, and 75 companies were honored for their efforts to create a truly “great place to work.” Drumroll please … Terakeet was named the 5th Best Company out of 22 medium-sized businesses!
This is a special occasion for us. We moved up a whopping 11 spots since last year (when we placed 16th), but this award is unique for other reasons, too. Our placement on this list was tabulated using a variety of information about our company, but 75% of our score was dependent on the results of an employee feedback survey. This is humbling because our ‘Keeters clearly recognize the effort of their peers, managers, and leadership in fostering an empathetic, respectful work environment, and they took the time to acknowledge the efforts Terakeet has undertaken to build and iterate on a culture steeped in the nuances of our core values.
Terakeet CPO Lynn Fraas said in a press release, “It was an honor to attend this year’s virtual event, and be recognized along with many other distinguished New York companies. We are proud to know that our employees are also recognizing us for the culture we’ve cultivated at Terakeet.”
We had so much fun at the virtual event, hosted by Rochester Business Journal, Best Workplaces, and NY-SHRM, but we’re also looking forward to celebrating altogether at some point in the future! Great work by all — we can’t wait to look back on this moment and toast to our progress alongside the many other distinguished NY companies making strides to empower and inspire the next generation of New York professional leaders.
Best Companies to Work for in New York is a celebration of the state’s elite employers, who have proven that they know what it takes to create an environment where people love to come to work.
