Terakeet Launches 12-Month Apprenticeship Program

Terakeet is pleased to announce the launch of its 12-month Apprenticeship program. This program is the brainchild of Amanda Hennigan (Outreach Manager) and supports our commitment to ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion at Terakeet. 

We are excited about the opportunity this program holds for the Syracuse community and for the future of our company. Read on to find out more about this program and for information about how to apply by the November 9th deadline.

Syracuse is known as “The Salt City” because when times are tough, we get tougher. We pride ourselves on our grit and determination to be a better city for every citizen. On an organizational level, we know the work to be an equitable, socially responsible company is never finished. We’ve recently stated our commitments on a short, medium, and long-term basis and are constantly working to incorporate feedback and new ideas into our overarching plan for equity. 

Bringing it back to the city we love so much – Terakeet believes in Syracuse and its ability to produce the most talented and motivated people. The city is our home, no matter how large we grow. As such, we are excited to announce the launch of our Terakeet Apprenticeship Program for Syracuse locals. This 12-month paid apprenticeship program includes full benefits and is designed to nurture local talent and remove some common barriers to entry that keep many people in the community from entering traditional technical and marketing spaces. 

The preferred education, experience, and skills we are looking for include: 

  • An interest in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
  • Ability to present information clearly, concisely, and engagingly to an audience
  • An eagerness to learn, listen and share your opinions
  • Self-starters with a willingness to work collaboratively and quickly 
  • Creative thinkers, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions

Through this 12-month apprenticeship program, apprentices can expect to hone their technical and professional skills while also learning cutting-edge search engine optimization (SEO) practices.

SEO is the process Terakeet uses to help improve and grow the traffic to our customers’ websites from Google searches. But, this isn’t just about learning the basics of SEO. This apprenticeship program will also help participants grow communication skills, writing abilities, and gain valuable business experience. Terakeet apprentices will be focused on identifying online publishers (such as bloggers and journalists) who can help our clients amplify their content across the web, while also learning from all of the other Terakeet departments that make our SEO strategies such a success. 

Throughout the program, apprentices will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a team of SEOs experts, content strategists, writers, and other members of the strategic outreach team. The program will be part hands-on and part classroom-style learning. Participants will be guided the entire way by a manager and a strong team of smart, supportive peers. 

At the completion of successful certification in year one, each member of the Apprenticeship program will be eligible for a Digital Marketing Specialist role. Terakeet will commit to either offering them a position or helping them into the next phase of their career or education.
